Novo Estrela (Portuguese for new star) is a village in the southeastern part of Príncipe Island in São Tomé and Príncipe. Novo Estrela is located 2 km southeast of the island capital of Santo António and is connected with a dirt road linking via the bay. The settlement was first founded as a plantation.

Plantations formerly dominated the majority of a part of Novo Estrela and its surrounding area, much of these are completely forested and likely that agriculture is expected to disappear from the area. Fishing remains to be the key industry of the village as well as agriculture as with many places on the island. It may be one of the poorest places in the nation before Neves Ferreira in the south.

GD 1º de Maio is the football (soccer) club of the village, it currently participates in the minor island championships. they play at Estádio 13 de Julho located northwest of the village and south of Santo António.

In the mid-1990s, businessman (or entrepreneur) and an agricultural engineer Claudio Corallo who is now a university professor at USTP, bought an abandoned cocoa plantation for 120 hectares (over a square kilometer) in Terreiro Velho (Old Third) on the island of Príncipe. He cultivated on that island and had produced a product with high quality which was considered the greatest chocolate on Earth, controlled all the production process from the tree to the tablet.
