Norwich was founded about 1885. It was named after Norwich, Connecticut.
Norwich is located at 37°27′28″N 97°50′50″W / 37.45778°N 97.84722°W (37.457778, -97.847160). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.46 square miles (1.19 km2), all of it land.
