The Northern Institute of Technology Management (NIT) is an international business school, located in Hamburg, Germany. It was founded in 1998 as a public-private partnership of the Hamburg University of Technology and sponsoring companies. The NIT offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Technology Management as well as in Entrepreneurship for international graduates with engineering background.

The financing of the school is not done by tuition fees but by a scholarship from industrial sponsors for each student. Therefore, a close relationship between each student and a company is established right from the beginning of the studies and is further developed by internships and project works throughout the 2-year program.

NIT's slogan "The unique combination" refers to a 2-year double-degree program: Students are studying at the neighboured Technical University a Master of Science in an engineering program of their choice and concurrently are taking part in the MBA program at the NIT. The idea is to equip engineers not only with technical knowledge but at the same time provide a practical education for leading positions in industry. Besides the classical management disciplines, the MBA program includes an intensive training in various soft skills, law and a foreign language (usually German). All classes are held in English language. The faculty consists of distinguished professors and industry experts from various universities and companies across the world.

The 70 students from 40 different countries are living together on campus in spacious single apartments. These apartments are spacious and fully furnished for the convenience of the students. Intercultural exchange in daily life and international friendships are guaranteed.

Students from Northern Institute of Technology Management participated in the mai Bangkok Business Challenge Sasin 2010, conducted in Bangkok, Thailand and were among the finalists. This business planning competition is between 55 teams from 16 different countries across the world. Team SWIO Corp. from Northern Institute of Technology Management won Best presentation of their group, best business plan of their group and an award for recognition of environmental concerns award besides being finalists. This team was the only European team among finalists. SWIO Corp. was the first German team to reach the final round of mai Bangkok Business challenge competition since its inception in 2002.
