The Northern Indiana Monarchs are a franchise of the American Basketball Association based in South Bend, Indiana. The team currently plays its home games at the KROC Corps Community Center.
The Michiana Monarchs began play in the 2010–11 season. Based in South Bend, Indiana, the Monarchs played in various locations in Michiana, most notably The Training Center in Granger, Indiana and Ross Beatty Junior/Senior High School in Cassopolis, Michigan.
In May 2013 the Monarchs moved from South Bend to the Mount Vernon, Illinois area and changed their name to the King City Monarchs. After the 2013–14 ABA season the team is known as the Southern Illinois Monarchs.
In the Summer of 2015 the team moved back to Sound Bend and changed their name to Northern Indiana Monarchs.
The Monarchs joined the new Midwest Basketball League, which plays a summer schedule, for 2016. Northern Indiana are a member of the MBL East Division.
