North Laurel is a census-designated place (CDP) in Howard County, Maryland, United States. The published population was 4,474 at the 2010 census. This population was substantially less than the CDP's population in 2000, and was the result of an error in defining the boundary prior to tabulation and publication of 2010 Census results. The corrected 2010 Census population is 20,259. North Laurel is located adjacent to the city of Laurel.

North Laurel is located in the southern corner of Howard County at 39°8′4″N 76°51′46″W / 39.13444°N 76.86278°W / 39.13444; -76.86278 (39.134343, -76.862690). It is bordered to the north by Savage and Columbia, to the west by Scaggsville, to the south in Prince George's County by the city of Laurel, and to the southeast in Anne Arundel County by Maryland City. The southern boundary of the CDP is defined by the Patuxent River, which is also the Howard County/Prince George's County line.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the North Laurel CDP has a total area of 6.3 square miles (16.4 km2), of which 6.3 square miles (16.3 km2) is land and 0.039 square miles (0.1 km2), or 0.6%, is water.
