Nikhil Nanda (born 18 March 1974) is the managing director of Escorts Limited, an engineering company that manufacture agricultural machinery, machine construction and material handling equipment and railway equipment. Escorts Limited was founded in 1948 by Nikhil's paternal grandfather, Har Prasad Nanda (known as H.P.Nanda).The company’s corporate headquarters is in Faridabad, Haryana, India.
Nikhil Nanda is the son of industrialist Rajan Nanda, the Chairman & Managing Director of Escorts Limited, and Ritu Nanda, the single largest insurance agent of the Life Insurance Corporation of India, and the grandson of actor-director Raj Kapoor. Nanda completed his schooling from Doon School, Dehradun, and went on to study business management at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA, where he majored in Finance and Marketing.
Nikhil Nanda married Shweta Bachchan, daughter of film actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, on 16 February 1997. They have two children, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda.
Nikhil Nanda has been a member of Escorts Limited’s Board of Directors since 1997. In 2007, he was appointed as Joint Managing Director of the company, and in September 2013, he became the Managing Director of Escorts Limited.
He plays a vital role in managing the company’s performance and steering its operations to create a customer-centric, technology-driven brand. Together with the leadership team, he is leading the organizational transformation into a culture of high-efficiency and aggressive growth.
