New Haven Unified School District

New Haven Unified School District is a public school district serving approximately 12,000 kindergarten through 12th-grade students at 11 schools in Union City and parts of Hayward, in the San Francisco Bay Area of San Francisco, California, United States.

The district was formed in 1965 from elementary school districts in Union City, and Union High School District in Fremont. New Haven was an early settlement on the west side of present-day Union City. New Haven became part of Alvarado, which maintained its name for more than 100 years until Union City was formed in the late 1950s. The New Haven School District was founded and took its name from the old settlement. Since Union City incorporated, its name is also part of the district's logo, which shows a group of children from all races and backgrounds holding hands around the city.
