The National Heritage Board (Abbreviation: NHB; Simplified Chinese: 国家文物局; Malay: Lembaga Warisan Negara; Tamil: தேசிய மரபுடைமைக் கழகம்) is a statutory board of the Singapore Government, under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY).
The National Heritage Board (NHB) aims to foster nationhood, promote identity building, and champion the development of a vibrant cultural and heritage sector in Singapore.
As the custodian of Singapore’s heritage, NHB is responsible for telling the Singapore story, sharing the Singaporean experience and imparting our Singapore spirit. Through the national collection, NHB presents heritage programmes and curates exhibitions to connect the past, present and future generations of Singaporeans through a shared experience. The mission of the National Heritage Board is 'To preserve and celebrate our shared heritage'.
Their vision is 'Pride in our Past, Legacy for our Future'.
The Museum Roundtable is an initiative led by NHB since 1996, with the objective of building a museum-going culture in Singapore while positioning museums as cultural destinations.
There more than 50 members for this initiative, consisting of public and private museums, heritage galleries and attractions in Singapore such as the Singapore Art Museum, the National Museum of Singapore, the Asian Civilisations Museum, the Science Centre Singapore and the National Library of Singapore.
