Nathan Cleary (born 14 November 1997) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the Penrith Panthers in the National Rugby League. He plays at halfback.

Born in Sydney, New South Wales, Cleary is of Croatian descent. Cleary played his junior football for Penrith Brothers and attended St Dominic's College, Penrith before being signed the Penrith Panthers.

Cleary is the son of former Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, North Sydney Bears, Sydney Roosters and New Zealand Warriors player and later New Zealand Warriors and Penrith Panthers coach, Ivan Cleary. His uncles are Josh Stuart and Jason Death.

In September and October 2015, Cleary played and captained the Australian Schoolboys team. In 2015 and 2016, Cleary played for the Penrith Panthers' NYC team.

On 7 May 2016, Cleary played for the Junior Kangaroos against the Junior Kiwis where he played at five-eighth, scored a try and kicked 5 goals in the 34-20 win at Parramatta Stadium. On 2 June 2016, Cleary extended his contract with the Panthers until the end of the 2019 season. Two days after the signing, in round 13 of the 2016 NRL season, Cleary made his NRL debut for the Penrith Panthers against the Melbourne Storm at five-eighth. Despite a 6-24 defeat at AAMI Park, Cleary had a great debut; making 38 tackles. In his next match, in round 14 against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, Cleary scored his first NRL career try, as well as kicking 5 goals in the Panthers' 31-24 win at Brookvale Oval. Then, in round 15 against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Cleary was named as the "man of the match" following the Panthers 28-26 win at Penrith Stadium. The Daily Telegraph said it was "hard to believe he is only 18 playing his third NRL game. Composed under pressure, kicked well and supported inside for a crucial second half try." After the departure of seasoned half Jamie Soward, and Peter Wallace shifting to hooker, Cleary made the halfback position his own. Cleary was in the race for the rookie of the year award, but lost the to Gold Coast Titans halfback, Ashley Taylor. Cleary finished his debut season with him playing in 15 matches, scoring 3 tries and kicking 52 goals. He was the Panthers highest point-scorer with 116 points in the 2016 NRL season. On 7 December 2016, Cleary was awarded with being named in the emerging NSW Blues squad.
