Nandanam (English: The Flower Garden) is a 2002 Malayalam film co-produced, written, and directed by Ranjith, starring Navya Nair and Prithviraj Sukumaran along with Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Revathi, and Aravindar. Singer K. J. Yesudas made a cameo appearance. The music was composed by Raveendran.
Balamani (Navya Nair) is a young orphaned girl and housemaid, she is an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. Balamani takes care of Unni Amma (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) who lives in the ancestral house. Unni Amma considers Balamani like her daughter. For Balamani everything is her Lord Krishna and Unni Amma. Unni Amma's grandson Manu (Prithviraj) comes from Bangalore to stay with his grandmother for a few days before he leaves for the US. Balamani is infatuated at the sight of Manu for the first time, because she had dreams about her groom as him and believes it is him. Eventually, they fall in love.
Manu's mother (Revathy), who was unaware of the affair, asks Manu to marry her friend's daughter. Manu discloses his wish to his mother, but in vain, as his mother had taken the marriage preparations to a point of no-return. His decision to marry the housemaid was not welcomed and Manu was forced to go through the arranged marriage that was set for him. Disheartened Balamani prays to Guruvayurappan for giving her strength to let go of her love. Unnikrishnan (Aravindar), who is her neighbor boy, consoles her and tells about everything will be all-right. Unni Ama makes a scene and it gains support for Balamani being united with Manu from the family and they get happily married in Guruvayur Temple in front of Lord Guruvayurappan. Later when she meets Unnikrishnan(Sudheesh), she rationalizes that whom she imagined that came to console her as the neighbor lad, Unnikrishnan(Aravindar) in her sadness was the Lord himself.
