Namma Preethiya Ramu (Kannada: ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ರಾಮು) is a 2003 Indian Kannada tragedy drama film directed by Sanjay - Vijay duo and written by Vinayan who directed the original Malayalam version Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum. The film stars Darshan playing the eponymous character of a blind village singer, along with Navya Natarajan and Hamsavijetha in other prominent roles. The film was produced by G Nandakumar and B P Rame Gowda for Vishwapriya Films studio. The film score and soundtrack was composed by maestro Ilaiyaraaja.
The film was released on 14 November 2003 and won positive reviews from critics upon release. Actor Darshan was appreciated for his effective portrayal of an offbeat role.
The music of the film was composed by Ilayaraja and lyrics written by K. Kalyan.
A remake of the Malayalam film Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum which was already remade in Tamil as Kasi starring Vikram in the lead, Namma Preethiya Ramu was further remade in Telugu and Sinhala.Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi, the Telugu version, starring R. P. Patnaik in the lead released on 24 March 2004. The Sinhalese Tamil version Sooriyaa is directed by Dr. Niranjan starring himself in the title role.
The film was also dubbed and released in Telugu as Kashinath in 2012. It was produced by Gajula Nageswara Rao and distributed by Kumari G. Kirthana of Sri Siva Parvathi Productions. The lyrics were written by Vanamali.
