Nadar Mahajana Sangam S. Vellaichamy Nadar College, often called as SVN College (Also known as SVN College, NMSSVN College and NMSSVNC) is a Prominent Autonomous (With effect from 2007) educational institution located at Nagamalai, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. The College was started in the year 1965 by Nadar Mahajana Sangam with a main objective of providing quality Higher Education to the poor and downtrodden sons and daughters of Madurai district. It offers Bachelors and Masters level Degree, the college is affiliated under Madurai Kamaraj University.

The college is a Co-educational, Autonomous and ISO 9001:2008 certified institution and is re-accredited with "A" grade by National Assessment and Accreditation council (NAAC), Bangalore on 10 March 2012.

The college was started in the year 1965 by the "Nadar Mahajana Sangam" with the encouragement of the generous donations received from philanthropic members of the Sangam. A sum of one lakh was donated by Thiru.S.Vellaichamy Nadar, a Philanthropist from Virudhunagar to start this educational institution as a Pre University College with initial student strength of 330 (Boys only), 18 teachers and 12 non-teaching staff. In order to perpetuate his pleasant memory, the college was named after him.

In the year 1986, it became a Co-educational institution.

The college was inaugurated on 20 July 1965 by the beloved leader Bharat Rathna Thiru. K. Kamaraj. Today this co-education citadel of learning has developed into a postgraduate and research institution aiming at imparting quality education with main emphasis on conduct and character development.
In the year 1990, the college celebrated its Silver Jubilee function in the August presence of His Excellency Thiru. Surjith Singh Barnala, the then Governor of Tamil Nadu. A number of eminent persons visited the college including former Union Minister Mr. Mohan Kumaramangalam, Mr.George Fernandes, former Chief Minister Mr. M.Karunanidhi.
