Naagin (English: Serpent) is an Indian supernatural drama television series, which premiered on 1 November 2015 on Colors TV. It is produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner Balaji Telefilms. The first season ended on 5 June 2016.Naagin was one of the highest rated shows on Indian television and won numerous awards. The second season of Naagin premiered on 8 October 2016 and airs weekends at 8:00pm IST. The first season starred Mouni Roy, Arjun Bijlani, Adaa Khan, and Sudha Chandran. The second season stars Mouni Roy, Adaa Khan, Karanvir Bohra, Sudha Chandran and Aashka Goradia.
Shivanya is a shape-shifting serpent who wants to avenge for her parents' death with the help of her friend and cousin, Sesha. There were five murderers, but Shivanya was able to see only three of them: Ankush, Viren and Shailesh. They killed Shivanya's parents to attain the Naagmani, a gem but they failed in doing so. As part of her revenge, Shivanya enters into Ankush's house as a maiden, and his son Rithik, a kind-hearted and joyful young man, subsequently falls in love with her. Upon finding out about Rithik's feelings for her, Shivanya marries him for her revenge and later kills Viren, the first murderer.
Realizing serpants are after their lives, Ankush's family and friends seek the help of Guru Maa who provides them with rings that protect them from serpants. Afterwards, Shivanya and Sesha kill Ankush's friend, Suri when Shivanya learns from Sesha that he is the fourth murderer.But Shivanya is nevertheless able to kill Shailesh, the third murderer.
However, Shivanya soon begins realising that Rithik is really a good person and is unaware of his father's evil doings and Shivanya eventually falls in love with him, much to Sesha's disappointment who thinks Shivanya won't be able to kill Ankush because of her love for his son Rithik.
