The Great Muslim Town Flyover is a flyover in Muslim Town, Lahore.
The project involved the construction of an overpass along Ferozepur Road at the junction of Canal/Wahdat in order to make Ferozepur Road a signal-free intersection and ultimately streamline traffic coming from various parts of the city.
Before the construction of the project, a traffic diversion plan was implemented to try to ensure smooth traffic, but major traffic jams still occurred.
The project was completed by Habib Construction Services and consists of four bridges, two along Ferozepur Road, an exit ramp towards Wahdat road, and a canal bridge for canal service roads. Flyover no. 1 carries Kalma Chowk Flyover-bound traffic while Ichra-bound traffic is being served through Flyover no. 2. Traffic coming from Kalma Chowk Flyover bound to Wahdat road makes use of the exit ramp. The canal bridge is for U-turns. The structures consist of massive reinforced concrete piles, piers, transoms, I&L-shape pre-stressed girders, box girders and deck slabs. Reinforced concrete retaining walls are designed to serve as ramps of flyovers. In addition to these structures, various slip lanes and service roads have been constructed at grade.
Flyover-2 (Ichra Bound) = 1308 M Flyover-3 (Wahdat Road Slip) = 298 M
