Murray is a city in Clarke County, Iowa, United States. The population was 756 at the 2010 census.
Murray had its start in the year 1868 by the building of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad through that territory.
Murray is located at 41°2′36″N 93°57′0″W / 41.04333°N 93.95000°W (41.043324, -93.950061).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.79 square miles (2.05 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2010, there were 756 people, 310 households, and 200 families residing in the city. The population density was 957.0 inhabitants per square mile (369.5/km2). There were 337 housing units at an average density of 426.6 per square mile (164.7/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 98.1% White, 0.5% African American, and 1.3% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.9% of the population.
There were 310 households of which 31.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.4% were married couples living together, 9.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 35.5% were non-families. 29.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 2.97.
