Mulchera is a town and a tehsil in Gadchiroli district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

It is part of Gadchiroli Sub-division of Gadchiroli district along with Gadchiroli, Chamorshi and Dhanora tehsils.

Mulchera tehsil has one functional tehsil office and only one Police station for entire tehsil . Mulchera tehsil comprises 67 villages. Most of the people speak Bengali,English, Marathi, Hindi languages. Best time to visit Mulchera and nearby area is from October to January. Weather remains cool during October to January, but from March to August, it is extremely hot. Villagers celebrate many festivals throughout the year. Main celebrations like Durga Puja, Deepawali, Kalipuja and Laxmipuja etc. Laxmipuja and Kalipuja are part of Bengali traditions, which are celebrated now almost all locals irrespective of language bars. Mulchera and nearby villages are surrounded by deep forests, so wild animals are normally spotted around the forests. From Ashti to Sundarnagar via Mulchera, good roads are built for transportation. However, accessing to all villages by vehicle is not possible all the season, especially on rainy time. On rainy season, roads are normally full of mud and water in the man holes. Another severe problem with this tehsil is poor electricity supply. There is frequent cut in electricity. There is only one govt. hospital in Mulchera, but it does not have adequate facilities to serve locals.

Most of villagers, depend on paddy field for their yearly livelywood. However, all farmers can't grow paddy due to shortage of water.. They all depend on rainy god for cultivating paddy fields. There is no such dam or water harvesting projects for farmers. During Janta Govt. in 1977, Chenna River projects was sanctioned and works got started to build a dam to store water, would have used by farmers for cultivation throughout the year. However. after falling of Janta govt. from centre, that project got scratched. Every leader, from whichever party comes during election time, and makes false promise to restart cheena river project and after winning the election, they make fool to gullible villagers.
