Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) is located at Banjara Hills, the heart of the city of Hyderabad in India. It is one of the most prestigious colleges in the city and is ranked 50th in the top 100 colleges of India by Outlook magazine in 2013. MJCET is also ranked in the top 50 private colleges of India by THE WEEK Magazine. Subsequently it was ranked in top 5 colleges of Andhra Pradesh by Careers 360.
MJCET is affiliated to Osmania University and is approved by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). The college is run and maintained by the Sultan-ul-Uloom society. The college offers Bachelor of engineering (B.E) courses in eight disciplines out of which six courses, namely, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering - have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA, AICTE) and the Institution of Engineers (India).
The Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society began as an educational initiative with an underlying mission to equip students of diverse disciplines with the skills and competencies needed to face the challenges of a fast changing world. Over the last two decades the Society has grown and branched into a giant tree of learning under which 9 institutions straddling diverse areas of learning have emerged as premier centers of quality education. Keeping pace with rapidly evolving ideas and technologies through quality education has been the mainspring of the growth of our institutions.
Established in 1980, the Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology offers four year B.E. degree courses in eight engineering branches, namely, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering and two postgraduate courses M.E(CAD/CAM) of two years duration and MCA of three year duration. The college also houses a Research and Development cell.
The campus of MJCET is located at Banjara hills which is the most prime location in the city of Hyderabad. The campus is lush green throughout with greenery almost everywhere. The campus is divided into various buildings for different departments of engineering. Block 4 being the oldest, where the college was first started in 1980.There is a separate block exclusively for workshops.These workshops consist of a wide range of machinery depending on the respective departments.The college campus also has a big mosque for prayers. There are two canteens, vegetarian and non-vegetarian.These canteens provide a poor quality of eatables at fair prices. Parking facility is also available on vast area.
