The Muallim District is the eleventh district and also a new state constituency in southeastern Perak, Malaysia, just on the border with Selangor. It will compromise an area of 93435 hectare land that includes the current sub-district of Tanjung Malim, located south in Batang Padang District. After proclamation, it will have three mukims, which is Slim, West Ulu Bernam and East Ulu Bernam.

Muallim District is divided into 3 mukims, which are:

The flag of Muallim was designed and made by locals of the district in January 2016 prior to the opening of the new official district.

The design was inspired by the spirit of youth following the 'Bandar Belia or City of Youth' concept and the districts location in the state of Perak.

The background of the flag consists of three stripes which are black, yellow and white that represents the original flag of the Perak state. The semi triangle at the left side of the flag represents the unity of the people in the district. The 'red' color of the triangle present in the flag resembles the spirit of youth and the determination of the locals to preserve the district's heritage and economical value towards the Perak State.

The 14-pointed star and the crescent both colored 'yellow' is inspired by the original 'Malaysian' flag which resembles the districts openness policy towards the whole population of Malaysia coming form the 13 member states and federal government. The top and bottom of the star and crescent combination shows the words 'Daerah Muallim' meaning 'Muallim District' written in the 'Jawi' script to symbolize the rich heritage of the people of Muallim.
