T. Montgomery "Monty" Mason (born September 8, 1967) is an American politician from Virginia. A member of the Democratic Party, Mason is the member of the Virginia Senate for the 1st district.
Mason was born in Farmville, Virginia. He attended the College of William & Mary, and graduated in 1989 with a degree in government. Mason works for Visa Inc. as a senior director, specializing on fraud prevention and risk management.
Mason ran for the Virginia House of Delegates in the 2013 elections. He defeated incumbent Republican Michael B. Watson.
Delegate Mason currently sits on two committees within the state of Virginia as well. These are for the Counties, Cities, and Towns and for the Courts of Justice.
Mason is a resident of Williamsburg, Virginia. Mason is an active alumnus at William & Mary, where he currently serves on the Challenge 1 Strategic Planning Committee, and served three years as Chairman of the Athletic Educational Foundation. In 2002, William and Mary awarded him the Young Alumni Service Award. His wife, Pamela, also has ties to The College of William & Mary. She is an alumna of both the William and Mary law and business schools and is now employed by the college as a compliance officer. The couple lives at home with daughters Taylor Anne and Hawley.
Mason has been recently awarded the Champion of Free Enterprise Award by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
