"Miss You Love" is the fifth track on Australian rock band Silverchair's third album, Neon Ballroom.
At the beginning of the piece the pitch of vocals and instruments moves up and down in harmony with the vocals handling the melody and the instruments accompanying, this is soon followed with the instruments changing to a lower pitch with the vocals, creating a darker timbre.
The music also gradually builds, at the beginning the guitar is just picking the strings and the vocals are overpowering it a little. As the song progresses the vocals stay the same and the instruments build, first the low timbre of the Bass then drums come in subito (suddenly).
The song was written when Johns was suffering from severe depression among other things. In an interview with Kerrang! Magazine, Johns said that the song was "about not being able to establish a relationship with anyone, not being able to experience love outside of family". He also said that he "wanted a song that people could perceive as a love song, while the lyrics are actually very angry".
The song appeared in the 1999 Australian film Looking for Alibrandi, although it was not included on the official soundtrack.
