The Kondana soft-furred rat (Millardia kondana) , also known as the Kondana rat or large metad, is a critically endangered species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in the Singharh plateau of Maharashtra, India. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland, and urban areas. Major threats are habitat loss, overgrazing of vegetation,and disturbance from tourism.
