New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is located in Park Slope in Brooklyn, New York, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, on Sixth Street. The hospital is a 651-bed (including bassinets) and provides services to some 42,000 inpatients each year. In addition, approximately 500,000 outpatient visits and services are logged annually. NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital offers specialized care in the following areas: advanced and minimally invasive surgery, advanced otolaryngology, asthma and lung disease, cancer care, cardiology and cardiac surgery, diabetes and other endocrine disorders, digestive and liver disorders, healthy aging, neurosciences, orthopedic medicine and surgery, vascular medicine and surgery and women's health. NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine and is a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Regional Hospital Network.

In 2001, the former president of the NY Methodist Medical Board and one of the hospital's surgeons, Mohammad Oloumi, had his medical license suspended by the NY State Department of Health due to professional negligence.

In 2011, a drug ring composed of NY Methodist residents was broken up by the DEA.

In September 2013, NYM agreed to implement a compliance program to settle civil claims under the Controlled Substances Act. This related to NYM medical residents' prescriptions for the drug Adderall without a legitimate medical purpose. NYM also paid a civil penalty of $70,000.

In November 2013, a $25 million judgment was levied against NY Methodist Hospital in the case of a young child who was not properly treated for a severe case of jaundice.

In January 2017, NYM became part of the NewYork-Presbyterian Regional Hospital network and the name was changed the NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
