Mentir para vivir (Life of Lies; dubbed as Lie So You Can Live by Univision) is a Mexican telenovela produced by Rosy Ocampo for Televisa. The telenovela is written by Maria Zarattini, who last wrote La Fuerza del Destino.
Mayrín Villanueva and David Zepeda star as the protagonists, while Altair Jarabo, Leticia Perdigón and Diego Olivera star as the main antagonists.
On June 3, 2013, Canal de las Estrellas started broadcasting Mentir para vivir (originally scheduled to air on May 27, 2013) weeknights at 7:25pm, replacing Qué bonito amor. The last episode was broadcast on October 20, with Quiero Amarte replacing it the following day.
Mentir para vivir, itself the fourth name, was previously known as La Sustituta,Oriana, and Mentiras de verdad. Production of Mentir para vivir officially started on March 4, 2013.
On October 7, 2013, Univision started broadcasting Mentir para vivir weeknights at 10pm/9c, replacing Qué Bonito Amor. On December 23, 2013, due to low ratings, Univision started broadcasting Mentir para vivir weeknights at 7pm/6c, replacing Corazón indomable. The last episode was broadcast on February 28, 2014.
From November 4, 2013 until January 24, 2014 Telesudamérica airs an hour of Mentir para Vivir on the time 7:00 a.m, replacing Eva Luna. From January 27 to February 23, 2014 Telesudamérica aired two hours of Mentir para Vivir. Because it had to be transmitted at 10:00 p.m, he opted trasmintir the mornings while Porque el Amor Manda aired at 10:00 p.m. From the February 24, 2014 an hour Hoy replaces Mentir para Vivir.
