Mary Joseph, later known simply as Meena (23 April 1941 – 17 September 1997), was an Indian actress in Malayalam movies. She had acted in about 600 films. She died on 17 September 1997 due to a massive heart attack. She and KPAC Lalitha are considered by many as two of the greatest character actors in Malayalam cinema.
Meena was born in 1941 in Alappuzha to Koyikkaleth Itty Cheriachen and his wife, Eliyamma. She was a theater artist before becoming a cine artist. Her first film was Kudumbini in 1964. In 1968, she acted in Viruthan Shanku, the first full-length comedy in Malayalam cinema directed by P. Venu. She had a handful of movies in 1960s–1970s. She was married to K.K. Joseph.
