McIntosh is a town in Marion County, Florida, United States. As of the 2000 census, the town population was 453. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau was 486 [1]. It is part of the Ocala Metropolitan Statistical Area.
McIntosh was platted in 1885, and named in honor of Col. John C. McIntosh, an early settler. A post office has been in operation at McIntosh since 1887.
