Matinkylä (Finnish) or Mattby (Swedish) is one of the major urban areas of Espoo, a city on the southern coast of Finland. Matinkylä is understood as the area between the Helsinki-Hanko highway and the coast of the Gulf of Finland, between the areas of Haukilahti and Iivisniemi.
About 30,000 people live in the Greater Matinkylä area, consisting of Matinkylä itself and the neighbouring areas of Olari and Henttaa. Iso Omena ("the Big Apple"), one of Finland's biggest shopping malls, is situated in Matinkylä.
Matinkylä is the final stop of the first stage of the future Länsimetro. A possible second stage is planned to extend all the way to Kivenlahti.
The Matinkylä area is 15 minutes from Helsinki by bus, and 10 minutes away by automobile.
