Mateusz J. Skutnik (born 26 July 1976 in Gdańsk, Poland) is a graphic artist, game developer, and architect who graduated from the Technical University of Gdańsk in Poland. He is the author of several graphic novels, such as the series Rewolucje,Blaki and Morfołaki, and is the creator of animated shorts like "Kinematograph".
Together with Karol Konwerski, he is the founder of PastelGames, the company behind several well-known point and click flash game series, including Covert Front, Daymare Town, 10 Gnomes and the critically acclaimed Submachine.

Telling stories – that's the thing I want to do in my life. Whether through comics or games – both mediums work fine for me. I've got lots of stories in my head, and I'll keep serving them to whoever wants to listen in whichever form."
Skutnik released his Morfolaki series in English on his website as a series of webcomics called Daymare Morphs. The first comic, "The Nature of Things," was released on July 8, 2015. Skutnik released a new comic each week, usually on Mondays. The final comic, "The Tailor," (episode 46) was released on November 28, 2016.
Skutnik is also releasing the Revolutions series in English as a series of free digital files (.cbr, .cbz, .pdf). He announced the digital version of the first volume, Parabola, in 2015 when he reached $1200 a month on Patreon. He released it on May 6, 2016. He released the second volume, Ellipse, in December 2016.

Daymare Town is a black-and-white game series written and drawn by Skutnik. The object of the games is to escape Daymare Town.
The four Daymare minigames (Daymare Cat, Where is 2010?, Daymare Invaders, and Daymare Kite) were released by Skutnik together in HD as a "Daymare Mini Bundle" for $2.

10 Gnomes is a game series created by Skutnik. Each game consists of a series of black-and-white photographs of various settings, and the player can zoom in on the pictures in certain places to search for ten gnomes that Skutnik has drawn into the photos.

In his 2016 wrap-up, Skutnik revealed that his plan for the 10 Gnomes series is to release 24 games overall, having released 12 games, one each month, in 2008, and then releasing 12 games, one each year, starting in 2010. This means that the final 10 Gnomes game will be released in 2021.
