Marvi Memon (Urdu: ماروی میمن) is a Pakistani politician who is the current Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme with the status of Minister of State in the Third Sharif ministry. A leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Memon has been an elected member of the National Assembly of Pakistan on reserved seats for women on the PML-N’s ticket since 2013.
Memon did her schooling in Karachi, Kuwait and Paris. She graduated from London School of Economics with a major in International Relations.
Prior to joining politics, Memon worked as an intern at numerous organisation such as DAWN, Newsline, Pakistan Institute of International Affairs, International Union for Conservation of Nature and US embassy in Islamabad.
Memon worked as a banker at Citibank Pakistan and helped with the launch of a vehicle tracking service provider in Pakistan, Trakker. She joined Pakistan Television Corporation to advise on media management during Musharraf’s tenure. Memon is known for being one of the youngest female CEO of a multinational in Pakistan. She also served in the media management wing of the Inter-Services Public Relations.
Memon was elected as the member of the National Assembly of Pakistan on Pakistan Muslim League (Q) seat for the first time in Pakistani general election, 2008 on a reserved seat for women. She resigned from the National Assembly seat in 2011 and left the party after the PML-Q joined the coalition government.
