Makani Kai Air, a subsidiary of Schuman Aviation Company, Ltd., is a commuter and charter airline based in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The airline offers scheduled passenger service from Honolulu International Airport to Molokai Airport, and to Kalaupapa Airport (also on the island of Molokai). On June 1, 2015, the airline began service between Molokai and Kahului and Kapalua on Maui. The airline charges a flat $50 airfare for every seat on every flight on its routes between Oahu, Molokai and Maui. The scheduled service between Kalaupapa to Molokai Airport is among the shortest scheduled flights in the world.

The company also offers charter airplane services statewide and helicopter tours of Oahu.

The company has been operating since 1998. It began operating scheduled passenger service from Honolulu to Kalaupapa, subsidized by the Essential Air Service program, in January 2012, and from Honolulu to Molokai Airport in June 2013.

On December 11, 2013, a Cessna 208 Caravan operating a Makani Kai Air flight, crashed into the sea a mile off Kalaupapa. The aircraft's engine failed after take off from Kalaupapa Airport, on the island of Moloka'i, headed to Honolulu. The aircraft had one pilot and nine passengers on board, with State of Hawai'i Health & Social Services' Director Loretta Fuddy passing away after the water landing. The NTSB has released a Probable Cause document regarding the accident dated May 23, 2016.
