MLine (game)

MLine is a pencil-and-paper game. It was presumably invented in India in the early 1900s. The game helps children improve their fine motor and drawing skills. In addition, it helps develop planning and visualization skills. The game is most fun for children ages 6 to 12.

The game is played by two players. The players start by drawing circles numbered 1 to 9 and a home circle. One player successively calls out numbers. The other player must draw a line connecting the new number to the previous one. The player drawing the lines is constrained by the following rules:

The player drawing the lines loses if his line crosses another line. They win if they are able to connect all the numbers and draw a line returning home.

The game difficulty can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of circles. Playing with 12 numbers makes the game more difficult and playing with 16 numbers makes it significantly more difficult.
