Lynbrook is a village in Nassau County, New York, USA. The population was 19,427 at the 2010 census. The Incorporated Village of Lynbrook is inside the Town of Hempstead, neighboring Malverne to the North, Valley Stream to the West, Hewlett to the South-West, East Rockaway to the South-east, and Rockville Centre to the East. The Village of Lynbrook's current mayor is William Hendrick.
Lynbrook is part of New York's 4th congressional district, which is currently represented by Democrat Kathleen M. Rice. Lynbrook is also part of New York State Senate District 9, which was previously represented by Republican Dean Skelos until his recent criminal conviction; a new election is scheduled to fill the vacancy. It is also part of the New York State 14th Assembly District, which is represented by Republican Brian F. Curran, who resides in Lynbrook. Long Island Rail Road service to the New York City boroughs of Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn is available at the Lynbrook station located off Sunrise Highway between Peninsula Boulevard and Broadway. There is also the Westwood station located off Whitehall Street that provides service to the New York City boroughs of Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.
