Lymm /ˈlɪm/ LIM is a large village and civil parish in Warrington, Cheshire, England. Lymm was an urban district of Cheshire from 1894 to 1974. The civil parish of Lymm incorporates the hamlets of Booths Hill, Broomedge, Church Green, Deansgreen, Heatley, Heatley Heath, Little Heatley, Oughtrington, Reddish, Rushgreen and Statham. At the 2011 Census it had a population of 12,350.
The name, of Celtic origins, means a "place of running water" and is likely derived from an ancient stream that ran through the village centre.
The village is split between the Lymm South ward and the Lymm North and Thelwall ward of the Borough of Warrington. Lymm South has two councillors, both Conservative following the 2016 local elections; while the Lymm North and Thelwall ward has three councillors, all Liberal Democrats as of the 2016 elections.
There is also a twelve-member Lymm Parish Council. Following the 2016 elections, there are seven Liberal Democrats, three Conservatives and two independent councillors.
Lymm is twinned with Meung-sur-Loire.
