Luisa Marvelia Ortega Díaz (born 11 January 1958) is a Venezuelan lawyer who currently serves as Chief Prosecutor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, a position she holds by an appointment of the National Assembly made on 13 December 2007, for the period 2008 to 2014. She was born in Valle de la Pascua in the state of Guárico on 11 January 1958. She earned her law degree from the University of Carabobo, located in the state of Carabobo. She specialized in criminal law at the Universidad Santa María (where she is currently a professor) and Procedural Law at Andrés Bello Catholic University, both located in Caracas. She also served as a legal consultant to the state TV channel Venezolana de Televisión, after which she joined the public prosecution service (Ministerio Público) in April 2002.
