Lower Chanceford Township is a township in York County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,028 at the 2010 census.
The Muddy Creek Bridge, Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad, Indian Steps Cabin, and McCalls Ferry Farm are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 41.7 square miles (108 km2), of which 41.6 square miles (108 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2), or 0.34%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,899 people, 1,028 households, and 793 families residing in the township. The population density was 69.7 people per square mile (26.9/km²). There were 1,169 housing units at an average density of 28.1/sq mi (10.8/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.93% White, 0.41% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.55% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 0.31% from other races, and 0.38% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.41% of the population.
There were 1,028 households out of which 38.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.9% were married couples living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% were non-families. 19.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.82 and the average family size was 3.24.
