Lostant is a village in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. The population was 486 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Ottawa–Streator Micropolitan Statistical Area.
A post office has been in operation at Lostant since 1861. The village was named for the wife of a French official.

According to the 2010 census, Lostant has a total area of 0.39 square miles (1.01 km2), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 486 people, 198 households, and 135 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,259.7 people per square mile (481.1/km²).
