Lostant is a village in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. The population was 486 at the 2000 census. It is part of the OttawaStreator Micropolitan Statistical Area.

A post office has been in operation at Lostant since 1861. The village was named for the wife of a French official.

Lostant is located at 41°8′32″N 89°3′41″W / 41.14222°N 89.06139°W / 41.14222; -89.06139 (41.142127, -89.061384).

According to the 2010 census, Lostant has a total area of 0.39 square miles (1.01 km2), all land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 486 people, 198 households, and 135 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,259.7 people per square mile (481.1/km²). There were 211 housing units at an average density of 546.9 per square mile (208.9/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.56% White, 0.21% Asian, 0.21% from other races, and 1.03% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.62% of the population.
