Lord Huron is an American indie folk and indie rock band based in Los Angeles. The group's debut album, Lonesome Dreams, was released in 2012 on Iamsound in the U.S. and Play It Again Sam in UK & Ireland in January 2013. Following the release of the album, the group appeared on The Tonight Show and their song "Ends of the Earth" was featured in the series finale of the television series Community. The band’s name was inspired by Lake Huron, the lake which band founder Ben Schneider grew up visiting, where he would spend evenings playing music around the campfire. Lord Huron's album "Strange Trails" was released in April 2015.

Founding member Ben Schneider began writing music in his hometown of Okemos, Michigan. Schneider went on to study visual art at the University of Michigan and finished his degree in France, before moving to New York City where he worked for an artist. In 2005, Schneider moved to Los Angeles. In 2010, Schneider formed Lord Huron as a solo project, recording his first few EPs entirely on his own and steadily adding members to help play in live shows, most of whom he had known since childhood.

The band's track "Fool for Love" is used in the end credits of Season 5 Episode 1 of HBO's Girls.

In the 2015 movie Freeheld, the band's track "Louisa" is used in the country western dance scene where Julianne Moore and Ellen Page's character are dancing together.

Their song "Ends of the Earth" is the track of end credits of Season 3 Episode 12 of the Showtime television series Shameless and of Season 2 Episode 6 of the FXX television series Man Seeking Woman. "Ends of the Earth" also appears in the films Endless Love and Walking With Dinosaurs, as well as at the season 6 finale of the TV show "Community (TV series)".
