Lone Oak is a city in Hunt County, Texas, United States. The population was 521 at the 2000 census. Although Lone Oak changed from a town to a city in November 1890, the change was not recognized by the Census Bureau until June 2007; consequently, it was listed as a town at the 2000 census.

Lone Oak is located at 32°59′45″N 95°56′28″W / 32.99583°N 95.94111°W / 32.99583; -95.94111 (32.995939, -95.940987).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town had a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km2), all of it land.
