Loco Shed is an engine shed located in Kalyan in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Located east of Kalyan Junction railway station, it falls under the Mumbai CR railway division.
Loco Shed can hold AC as well as DC Electric Loco as well as Diesel Loco. it one of the largest Loco Shed in India. Kalyan Loco Shed is the only shed in India to hold widest variety of locos. Currently shed handles 201 locos including 64 WAG 9 and is also used for banking from Karjat to Lonavala.
Major and minor maintenance schedules of locomotives are carried out. The shed is divided into Light Schedule Repair Section, Heavy Schedule Repair Section, Heavy Repair (Mechanical), Heavy Repair (Electrical), Bogie Section, Machine Shop and Training Centre. The Railway Board sanctioned construction of Loco Shed, Kalyan in the year November 28th, 1928.
It is only shed to ever hold WCAM 3 engines.
