Liu He (Chinese: 刘鹤; born 25 January 1952) is a Chinese economist and politician. Liu is the Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the deputy party group secretary of the NDRC, and the chief of the General Office serving the Leading Group for Financial and Economic Affairs. As General Office chief, Liu He is ranked as a provincial-ministerial level official.
Liu was born in Beijing. He graduated from Renmin University with a degree in industrial economics. He later received his Masters of Public Administration at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He worked successively for the National Planning Commission (later superseded by the NDRC), the State Information Centre, and the Development Research Centre of the State Council.
He is a member of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
