Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Lithuanian entry was selected through a national selection, organised by the Lithuanian broadcaster LRT. Donny Montell represented Lithuania with the song "Love is blind", which qualified from the second semi-final and went on to place 14th in the final, scoring 70 points.
On 11 September 2011, LRT confirmed Lithuania's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan, although the broadcaster struggled with financial problems. On 14 October 2011, LRT called for songs for their national final. Entries can be submitted until 2 January 2012. The broadcaster will internally select a number of songs to participate in the televised shows. The songs published before 1 September are not eligible to enter the selection, and the acts can not feature more than six people on stage.
On 6 November 2011, LRT announced more details on their national selection. Four semi-finals will be aired, followed by a final show. A combination of jury voting and televoting enjoying 50% stake each will be used. This voting rule will not apply in the "Super-final", where the Lithuanian representative for Baku will be decided via jury voting alone.
On 1 February 2012, LRT announced that the final will take place on 3 March. A total of 14 or 15 finalists will be chosen by both jury voting and televoting at a 50%-50% stake. The voting of the jury will be aired live. The Lithuanian representative in Baku will be awarded 15,000 litai (€4,308). The runner-up will win 10,000 litai (€2,872), while the act to finish third will receive 5,000 litai (€1,436).
Additionally, the Lithuanian head of Delegation, Audrius Girzadas, has not excluded the possibility of selecting next year's national representative in Eurovision internally, given the financial difficulties LRT is going through.
Lithuania competed in the second half of the second semi-final on 24 May. In the running order draw, determined on 20 March 2012, Lithuania got a wildcard (allowing it to choose the singing position) and opted to perform last. Montell eventually advanced to the finals and performed fourth. The song finished in 14th place with 70 points which was an improvement for the country since last year's participation where they finished 19th. In addition, it was revealed that Lithuania came 3rd during the second semi-finals with 104 points.
