List of Ultras in Canada


The following sortable table comprises the 143 ultra-prominent summits of Canada. Each of these peaks has at least 1500 metres (4921 feet) of topographic prominence.

The summit of a mountain or hill may be measured in three principal ways:

Mount Logan exceeds 5000 metres (16,404 feet) of topographic prominence. Five peaks of Canada exceed 3000 metres (9843 feet), 11 exceed 2500 metres (8202 feet), 41 exceed 2000 metres (6562 feet), and the following 143 ultra-prominent summits exceed 1500 metres (4921 feet) of topographic prominence.

Of these 143 ultra-prominent summits of Canada, 103 are located in British Columbia, 17 in Yukon, 16 in Nunavut, nine in Alberta, and one in the Northwest Territories. Three of these peaks lie on the British Columbia-Alberta border and two lie on the British Columbia-Yukon border. Four of these summits lie on the international Yukon-Alaska border and two lie on the international British Columbia-Alaska border.

1. Mount Logan in Yukon is the highest summit of Canada.

2. Mount Fairweather on the Alaska border is the highest summit of British Columbia.

3. Mount Saint Elias is the second highest summit of both Canada and the United States.

4. Mount Waddington is the highest summit of the Coast Mountains of British Columbia.

5. Mount Lucania in Yukon is the highest summit of the northern Saint Elias Mountains.

7. Mount Robson in British Columbia is the highest summit of the Canadian Rockies.

8. Mount Sir Wilfrid Laurier is the highest summit of the Cariboo Mountains of British Columbia.

10. Mount Sir Sandford is the highest summit of the Sir Sandford Range of British Columbia.
