List of Rural Communities in New Brunswick


A rural community is a type of quasimunicipality in the Canadian Province of New Brunswick.

In 2012, New Brunswick had five rural communities that had a cumulative population of 11,310 and an average population of 2,262 in the 2011 Census. New Brunswick's largest and smallest rural communities are Beaubassin East and Saint-André with populations of 6,200 and 819 respectively.

The total amount of rural communities increased to seven in 2014 with the incorporation of Cocagne and Hanwell. Both became rural communities on May 23, 2014.
