List of Longmire episodes

Longmire is a crime drama series that premiered on A&E Network on June 3, 2012. The series is based on the Longmire mystery novels written by best-selling author Craig Johnson, and follows Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor), the sheriff of the fictional Absaroka County, Wyoming, as he returns to work following the death of his wife.

As of September 23, 2016, 53 episodes of Longmire have been released, concluding the fifth season. The network has renewed Longmire for a sixth and final season of ten episodes to be released in 2017.

A woman's body is found on the outskirts of Absaroka County. The only clues to her mysterious death are single dollar bills scattered nearby and her body glitter. Walt and Vic surmise that the victim was an exotic dancer. In the victim's pocket, they find a drawing of a tree with unrecognizable writing underneath it. The investigation (which includes Vic's performing a partial striptease at the club where the victim allegedly worked, in order to have a suspect identified) leads the team to learn the woman was a Mennonite. The victim's brother had accidentally killed her while trying to urge her back into the Mennonite community. Outside the investigation, Walt suspects that daughter Cady is secretly dating someone, and that particular someone is Branch.

This episode is based on actual events. In the opening scene a figure brutally beats a man, and then picks up teeth off the ground. Walt investigates the disappearance of a Cheyenne boy from his foster home. To start the investigation, Walt visits the missing boy's Cheyenne parents, who say a social service wrongfully took their son from them and placed him in a foster home. Two other boys go missing from a group home. One of Walt's deputies, Vic, tells Walt that all the missing children were removed from their Cheyenne homes after the same anonymous caller on the Cheyenne reservation reported abuse and drug use. All the boys turn up at Henry's bar. One of the boys tells Walt they were taken by a "dog soldier" with a scar under one eye. Walt believes the children are describing Hector, a Cheyenne tough guy. The police find the dead body of the man who ran the group home for a child services agency, and the boss of the child services agency says the manager of the group home had called her to tell her he was scared of a Cheyenne man with a scar under his eye. Hector shows up at Walt's home to tell Walt he didn't kill the manager of the group home. Walt says he believes him, but that he can't let Hector go. After a fight, Walt manages to arrest Hector. Walt figures out that the lady that runs the child services agency killed the group home manager after a dispute over stealing government money earmarked for foster families that adopt Native American children. Walt confronts the child services manager, and tells her that he can't protect her from Hector unless she confesses. Walt lets Hector go and all the previously missing children return to their homes on the reservation. The last scene shows Jacob Nighthorse (A Martinez as a developer of the casino that is set to open on the Cheyenne reservation) dressed as a dog soldier and holding the teeth from the opening scene up to the sky.
