Line 7 (simplified Chinese: 七号线; traditional Chinese: 七號線; pinyin: Qī hào xiàn; Jyutping: Cat1 Hou6 Sin3) is a line of the Shenzhen Metro with a length of 30.3 km and a total of 28 stations. It connects the Xili Lake to Tai'an. The line travels East–West across Shenzhen in a "V" shape. Construction started on 23 October 2012, with track laying complete in April 2016. The line started service on 28 October 2016.
Line 7 may have a north or east extension, and a branch for Metro Culture and Sports Center station. It may open along with Metro Culture and Sports Center in 2018. Train for that branch has already arrived.
In 2014, Shenzhen Metro Group purchased 70 trains (420 carriages) from CNR Changchun Railway Vehicles for the future Line 7 and Line 9, in which Line 7 will use 41 while Line 9 will use 29. The first train arrived in mid-March 2016.
