Lincoln Boulevard (Southern California)


Lincoln Boulevard is a major northwest/southeast boulevard near Santa Monica Bay in Los Angeles County, Southern California. It is over 8 miles (13 km) in length.

Lincoln Boulevard begins at San Vicente Boulevard in Santa Monica, heading southward as a residential street. It becomes a four lane thoroughfare after crossing Wilshire Boulevard. It passes through the Ocean Park district, Venice, Marina del Rey, and Westchester. Lincoln Boulevard ends when it merges into Sepulveda Boulevard at the northern side of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The portion between the Santa Monica Freeway (Interstate 10) and its southern terminus at Sepulveda Boulevard is signed as part of State Route 1. The portion between Santa Monica Boulevard and Interstate 10 was original part of State Route 2.

After Pacific Coast Highway meets Interstate 10, Lincoln Boulevard is the main route to go south along the Pacific Coast in Los Angeles. It passes through the communities of Santa Monica, Venice, Marina del Rey, Playa Vista, and Westchester. Major landmarks include the Ballona Wetlands and Loyola Marymount University.
