Lima Township is a civil township of Washtenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 3,307.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.2 square miles (91.2 km2), of which 34.5 square miles (89.4 km2) is land and 0.66 square miles (1.7 km2), or 1.90%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,224 people, 1,168 households, and 954 families residing in the township. The population density was 89.0 per square mile (34.4/km²). There were 1,198 housing units at an average density of 33.1 per square mile (12.8/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.55% White, 0.37% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.59% Asian, 0.22% from other races, and 1.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.90% of the population.
There were 1,168 households out of which 37.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.1% were married couples living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.3% were non-families. 15.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.76 and the average family size was 3.06.
In the township the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 30.9% from 45 to 64, and 11.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 104.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.8 males.
