The Rolling Stone Album Guide |
Life or Death is the debut album by American rapper C-Murder by No Limit Records on March 17, 1998, It was produced by Beats By the Pound. Like most of No Limit's albums in the 1990s, the album was a success, peaking at #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, as well as #21 on the Top Heatseekers. After debuting on the charts with 197,000 copies sold its first week out, "Life or Death" quickly achieved Platinum status moving over 1 million copies. It is possible that the release date of this album started some tension between No Limit and Cash Money Records because Big Tymers released their debut How You Luv That on the same day.
