Leila Farrukh gizi Shikhlinskaya (Azerbaijan Leyla Fәrrux qızı Şıxlinskaya, born June 12, 1947) is an Azerbaijani and Soviet actress, choreographer-teacher, doctor of art history, People's Artist of Azerbaijan, member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR, founder of the private clinic Leila Shikhlinskaya in Baku.
Leyla Farrukh gizi Shikhlinskaya was born in Moscow, Russia. By nationality - Azerbaijani. Author of more than 100 scientific articles. She starred in such films as "Arshin Mal Alan" (1965, Gulchohra), "The Day Passed" (1971, Esmer), "Dede Gorgud" (1975, Banu-Cicek), etc.
The first role of Leila Shikhlinskaya was the role of Gyulchohra in the film "Arshin Mal Alan", based on the eponymous operetta of Uzeir Hajibeyov. During this period Leila Shikhlinskaya studied at the school and was engaged in ballet (according to the script, the new Gyulchohra should also be able to dance) and passed tests in a scene on the balcony where the main character dreams of marrying for love. However, Shikhlinskaya's partner at the trials, Rashid Behbudov (who played the protagonist in the 1945 film) was dissatisfied with the actress because of her relatively high growth. Then Leila Shikhlinskaya came with a telegram to go to the main hero of the movie "The Day Passed". However, initially the screenwriter of the film Anar was dissatisfied with the choice of the new actress, but after the release of the film he changed his mind. Leila Shikhlinskaya taught three disciplines at the Bolshoi Theater school at once. In the period from 1990 to 1992 she was the choreographer of the company "Diaghilev-ballet". Since 1992, Shikhlinskaya was the artistic director of the experimental ballet creative center Sheila, organized by her in Moscow. In 1987, she received her Candidate of Arts. In 1993, Shikhlinskaya was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Azerbaijan.
Shikhlinskaya was married four times. The longest, 19 years, lived with Andrei Loginov, with the rest for four years. Has a daughter Jeyla (played daughter of the Shikhlinskaya character in the movie "Summer Season" (1985) based on the work of Elchin Efendiyev) and the youngest son Philip. Jeyla works as a child psychologist in Dubai, where she opened the "Montessori School", Philip also works in Dubai as a design architect and grows two children.
