Art of Dying is a Canadian rock band fronted by Jonny Hetherington. The band is currently signed to Better Noise Records. Bassist Cale Gontier is the cousin of Adam Gontier, the lead singer of Saint Asonia and former lead singer of Three Days Grace. Prior to joining the band, Gontier and guitarist Tavis Stanley played in another band, Thornley.

The band was formed in 2004 by lead singer Jonny Hetherington and guitarist Greg Bradley.

On December 1, 2009, it was announced that the band signed a record deal with Reprise Records and Intoxication Records, founded by Disturbed members David Draiman and Dan Donegan. The album was produced by Howard Benson and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge. The album was released on March 22, 2011.

Art of Dying have toured almost continuously in support of the album. In addition to headlining and co-headlining club shows, the band has been featured on several of the biggest hard rock and heavy metal festivals in the country. They have been on both the 1st and 2nd annual Avalanche Tours in 2011 and 2012, headlined by Stone Sour and Shinedown, respectively. They also toured on Rockstar's 2011 Uproar Festival, headlined by Avenged Sevenfold.

Let the Fire Burn, a complete acoustic album, was released on April 24, 2012. The album features songs like "Completely" and "Get Thru This".

The band toured as the opening act for the cello-metal band Apocalyptica during the North American leg of the Shadowmaker tour in 2015. They also released the new album titled Rise Up on December 11, 2015. Art of Dying announced on Facebook stating Jeff Brown left the band to "pursue a different path", and longtime drum tech and stage manager Cody Watkins will be his replacement.
