Leland is a village in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. The population was 970 at the 2000 census. It is part of the OttawaStreator Micropolitan Statistical Area.

A post office called Leland has been in operation since 1857. The village was named for Edwin S. Leland.

Leland is located at 41°36′51″N 88°47′53″W / 41.61417°N 88.79806°W / 41.61417; -88.79806 (41.614112, -88.797962).

According to the 2010 census, Leland has a total area of 0.53 square miles (1.37 km2), all land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 970 people, 354 households, and 260 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,788.1 people per square mile (693.6/km²). There were 372 housing units at an average density of 685.7 per square mile (266.0/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 97.42% White, 0.21% Native American, 0.82% from other races, and 1.55% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.81% of the population.
